As I started out my course in 2D Fundamentals, I began to apply the principles of perspective drawings. I gave myself the objective to draw a 3D room with a single vanishing point. Then using the very same principles, using what I had learnt with photoshop, draw the very same room digitally.
As you can see below I have drawn a dining room including several assets, with the vanishing point at the centre of the horizon, and applied shading to portray sources of light and depth of objects. I would say the shading is accurate and corresponds well with the sources of light! However I feel I could've included more texture to the room.
Using what I had learnt with the Photoshop software, I then drew the same room again digitally (with a couple of minor adjustments). With this image I'm very happy with the proportions, and how clean it looks. However the shading (particularly the grading) is something that needs improving on.
Having carried out the two objectives successfully, I feel as though I have a better understanding of drawing in 2D, and am more confident with the tools within Photoshop. I would already say that I much prefer to draw digitally.
Back again love the room drawing lovely lighting and very detailed 🏅🥇
Amazing work!
Your work is amazing and doing the drawing both on paper and digital is a nice balance and they match really well. Absolute amazing!!!
It’s really good that you have used the traditional technique and developed it to a digital medium, having both skills are very important, wicked 😻
