My Pro's and not so Pro's

As mentioned in my previous blog, prior to undertaking a degree course with the SAE institute I was an aircraft engineer for 8 years. With my previous background, it has allowed me to develop certain skills of which I now consider my strengths. These strengths include task management; staying focused on the objective at hand, forward planning, and allocating time effectively to reach deadlines. I'm also good at problem solving, and can always manage to overcome obstacles that come my way or find alternative solutions. I'm very dedicated to my learning no matter what that may be, and apply myself to improve and master my skills.

What do I lack? Perhaps my English skills, being able to convey as effectively as I could do through writing. I consider myself a very honest person, and while some would consider that a positive it can be seen as a negative, and in some aspects I would agree. I find it very difficult to lie and if I don't like something I would usually express that as politely and respectfully as possible!

I've come a long way in terms of being out spoken but I feel there's to more room to improve. I'd like to keep pushing myself and become more confident in addressing large groups and taking the lead. When it comes to organising my own personal resources, I know that I could improve, so would therefore say my organisation could could be more up to scratch. Although I have a basic knowledge in some of the software's i'll be using, and will no doubt learn so much more during my course at SAE, I feel I could expand my reach in to new techniques and other software's, which would allow me to improve my problem solving even further whilst also making me stand out as a more competitive artist.
